The Home Depot said it’s expanding its delivery partnership to reach overseas military communities.

As of July 8, its partnership with military exchanges expanded to include delivery to Army Post Office (APO), Fleet Post Office (FPO) and Diplomatic Post Office (DPO) addresses, Home Depot said. In doing so, the retailer and its partners will provide tax-free access to more than 20,000 home improvement products, according to the retailer.

The Home Depot is No. 4 in the Top 2000 Database. The market research tool ranks North America’s largest online retailers by their annual ecommerce sales and more. Additionally, Home Depot is the top-ranked retailer in the Top 2000’s Hardware & Home Improvement category.

How Home Depot reaches overseas military communities for delivery

Home Depot specifically said it would make its overseas military delivery program available through the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) and Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM).

Eligible military exchange shoppers will be able to purchase products from Home Depot, according to the retailer. It will then deliver the products directly overseas, according to Home Depot’s announcement about the offering’s expansion. The retailer claimed that its program will serve military families stationed at more than 750 bases in more than 80 countries outside the United States.

Home Depot noted that eligible military exchange shoppers include:

  • Active-duty service members
  • National Guard members
  • Reservists
  • Retirees
  • Honorably discharged veterans
  • Authorized civilians

It also said its expanded offering gives those consumers access to more than 20,000 products across various home-improvement categories. Home Depot facilitates the deliveries through the U.S. Postal Service. The retailer added that it delivers in accordance with military mailing and security requirements.

“The Home Depot has proudly supported military service members, veterans and their families for decades,” said Jordan Broggi, executive vice president of customer experience and president of online at The Home Depot, in a statement. “Expanding delivery through APO, FPO and DPO addresses helps ensure military communities serving around the world have convenient access to the home improvement products they need, no matter where they are stationed.”
