Povison benefits from Prime Day effect, plans ahead for Cyber 5

Furniture retailer Povison did not build a dedicated promotion tied to Amazon Prime Day, yet it still experienced a sales boost from it — but it won’t be taking the same approach during the holidays.

The latest Amazon Prime Day sale ran from June 23 through June 26, shifting from its typical two-day run time in July. During that period, Povison saw a surge in traffic, according to its founder and CEO, Ayden Lin.

Povison sales increased by nearly 300% compared to a typical period, Lin told Digital Commerce 360 via email. He said the retailer “simply increased” its Amazon media budget during the event time frame.

“Our primary focus remains our DTC [direct-to-consumer] website and official flagship store, because owned channels allow us to deliver a more complete service experience and communicate the brand more clearly,” Lin told Digital Commerce 360. “At the same time, Amazon is one of the broadest-reaching retail channels in the U.S. We continue to participate actively so customers can discover and purchase Povison through a platform they already know and use.”

On the other hand, Povison begins preparing for other key sales periods months in advance, Lin said. He noted that November is typically the retailer’s most important sales month of the year. The period from Black Friday through Cyber Monday serves as Povison’s peak sales window, he said.

Povison’s different approaches to Prime Day and the Cyber 5

Lin attributed the Prime Day growth to “a combination of event-driven platform traffic and growing brand recognition, rather than the result of a dedicated discount campaign.”

U.S. consumers spent about $26.4 billion online during the Prime Day period, Digital Commerce 360 previously reported. That compares to how much consumers spent on just Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2025. However, the full Cyber 5 (from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday) generated about $44.2 billion in ecommerce sales in 2025, Digital Commerce 360 previously reported.

During the Cyber 5 in 2025, Povison “saw meaningful gains in both traffic and conversion, but some of our best-selling product lines also experienced inventory pressure, which meant we could not fully capture all of the demand,” Lin said. “This year, we are placing greater emphasis on cross-functional planning, earlier supply chain coordination and stronger inventory management.”

He said the retailer’s data-driven marketing strategy performed well during the 2025 peak season. It plans to build on that this year with “smarter media buying” and a deeper analysis of the retailer’s customer behavior.

Povison is also developing marketing campaigns and securing content creators months ahead of time.

“In parallel, our supply chain and logistics teams prepare inventory and fulfillment capacity, and our technology team stress-tests the website to maintain a stable shopping experience during peak traffic,” Lin told Digital Commerce 360.

Povison is making an omnichannel push ahead of holidays

Some of the retailer’s proven tactics, he said, included:

  • Securing key creator partnerships early.
  • Developing room-based and lifestyle content.
  • Supporting the campaign with offline brand pop-up activations.

A new priority this year, he said, is to integrate Povison’s physical retail stores “more systematically” into its broader Cyber 5 strategy. Lin said Povison wants its flagship store and online channels “to reinforce one another and deliver one consistent brand experience, rather than operating as two parallel tracks.”

He said there are two meaningful differences in how the retailer plans to approach the Cyber 5 this year.

The first is creating one connected, omnichannel experience. Lin wants Povison to create a sales moment “that can drive natural traffic to the store while giving customers who prefer to shop online the same consistent brand experience.”

The other is to be more proactive about holiday marketing across AI channels, he said.

“Our goal is to make sure that when consumers ask AI assistants for furniture recommendations during the peak shopping season, Povison is one of the brands that appears in the answer,” Lin said. “That requires a different kind of content investment from traditional search and paid media. At a broader level, our Cyber 5 philosophy is to earn the purchase through confidence in the product and trust in the brand, not simply through price promotion. We want to win the trust behind the transaction, rather than trade a discount for a one-time sale.”
