The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission issued the recall after concerns the packaging could be contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia complex bacteria. Credit: ACCC According to the ACCC, using the potentially contaminated lenses could cause “irritation or serious eye infection”. At least one incident associated with the product has been reported overseas. The affected contact lenses were available for sale between August 7, 2024 and August 15, 2026. Consumers can identify the recalled product by the SKU number sb2408056243278800. Anyone who has purchased the affected lenses should stop using them.
