Thousands of children’s pajama sets sold through SHEIN are being recalled after federal regulators determined the clothing could expose kids to serious burn injuries or death. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall notice, Sweet Cubby is recalling about 12,461 children’s loungewear sets because they violate the mandatory federal flammability standard for children’s sleepwear. The agency announced the recall on September 10, 2026. No injuries or incidents connected to the recalled clothing have been reported. The SHEIN pajama recall involves two-piece Sweet Cubby sets that include a short-sleeved shirt and matching shorts. According to the CPSC , the sets were available in multiple colors and children’s sizes ranging from 5/6Y through 13/14Y. Consumers can identify the affected clothing by “Batch No.: 272779,” which is printed along with the size on the sewn-in neck label and seam label. Per the CPSC recall notice, the loungewear was sold exclusively online through SHEIN.com from June 2025 through May 2026. Prices ranged from $8 to $12. The retailer listed in the federal recall is Hong Kong Xuheyuan Trading Co., Ltd., doing business as Sweet Cubby, and the products were manufactured in China. Federal officials are telling families who own the recalled sets to stop using them immediately and keep them away from children. According to the CPSC, Sweet Cubby is offering full refunds, but consumers will be required to cut the clothing in half and email a photograph showing the destroyed product to [email protected] before disposing of it. The concern behind the SHEIN pajama recall goes beyond the possibility of clothing simply catching fire. Those sets had been sold online from August 2019 through January 2021, and no injuries were reported at the time of that recall. Another major SHEIN pajama recall followed in February 2025. According to the CPSC’s February 2025 notice, SHEIN Distribution Corporation recalled approximately 17,300 SHEIN EVRYDAY Kids pajama sets because they violated federal flammability regulations and posed a burn risk to children. The affected sets had been sold on SHEIN.com from August 2023 through November 2024 for about $20. Federal officials again reported no injuries. Additional sleepwear sold through the marketplace was flagged later in 2025. In October of that year, the CPSC warned consumers to stop using ILIKER pajama sets sold on SHEIN.com because they failed the mandatory children’s sleepwear flammability standard. The agency said about 215 sets had been sold from April through September 2025 . In a separate warning, the CPSC identified SXDFSA children’s pajama sets sold through SHEIN as another flammability risk and urged consumers to stop using them. The issue surfaced again this summer. According to a June 2026 CPSC recall notice, SHEIN Distribution Corporation recalled about 160 Michley children’s pajamas after regulators determined they violated the mandatory flammability standard and could cause serious burn injuries or death. Those pajamas were sold on SHEIN.com from May through December 2025. No incidents or injuries were reported. The latest SHEIN pajama recall comes during a period of additional federal scrutiny involving other products sold through or imported by the company. On September 3, 2026, the CPSC announced a recall of about 963 spiral toys involving SHEIN Distribution Corporation because small balls created a choking hazard for young children. One week later, the agency recalled 4,640 decorative refrigerator magnets imported by SHEIN because loose high-powered magnets could cause severe internal injuries or death if swallowed. For families who purchased Sweet Cubby loungewear through SHEIN, the CPSC’s direction is immediate: stop using the sets, remove them from children, and follow the destruction instructions required to receive a full refund.
