Fast fashion retailer Shein has employed Big Law firms including Skadden and Latham & Watkins to guide its initial public offering. Shein Global Holdings Ltd. is seeking to raise as much as HK$13.9 billion ($1.8 billion) in its Hong Kong IPO. Its earlier attempts to list in the US and in London were derailed by regulatory scrutiny. Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom lawyers steered the Hong Kong and US-related legal matters for Shein, according to a filing to the stock exchange Monday. Firms King & Wood and Maples and Calder LLP guided the company on PRC and Cayman Islands law respectively. Latham guided the Hong Kong and US law aspects of the listing for joint sponsors Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase & Co., while Haiwen & Partners steered PRC law. Skadden and Latham did not immediately respond to inquiries. The IPO gives the company a market capitalization of about $25.7 billion to $26.8 billion. It is due to debut in the public markets on Sept. 1. Shein completed a purchase of Everlane for $80 million in May and faced a US national security review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
