Temu expands seller training Temu is expanding its training programmes for sellers in cooperation with eight international product testing and certification organisations, including TÜV SÜD, Bureau Veritas, and QIMA. The courses are designed to help sellers on Temu understand the product safety and certification requirements that apply to their products and the markets in which they operate. Direct access for sellers The training gives sellers direct access to independent experts who explain how regulatory requirements apply to their products. Sellers on the platform also have access to support for testing and certification. The courses are broadcast via livestream through the Temu Seller Academy. The training sessions offered in August generated more than 4,000 views among sellers and more than 2,000 interactions. The training sessions Among the August sessions were training courses on the following topics: - TÜV SÜD covered testing and certification requirements for children's toys in Europe and the United States, with a focus on risk minimisation through product design and material selection. - Bureau Veritas provided an overview of European toy safety requirements, including regulatory developments, labelling requirements, and physical and chemical risks. - As part of the August programme, the EU-funded product safety project SPEAC also provided information on the new EU Packaging Regulation and the specific obligations for online sellers. Future training sessions will address topics relating to electronics, textiles, footwear, cosmetics, and food‑contact materials. Every market has specific obligations “Every new market brings additional obligations, from product safety regulations to testing and certification,” a Temu spokesperson said. “By organising these training sessions together with leading industry experts, we give sellers direct access to specialists and practical information that they can directly apply to their operations and products.” More than 100 discussions with business associations In the first half of 2026, Temu held more than 100 discussions with business associations, chambers of commerce, and founders’ networks in Europe to better understand the challenges faced by small businesses in online retail. The practical effort involved in selling across multiple markets was repeatedly raised in these discussions. Temu says it is using this feedback to improve and expand its support for merchants. Support offering The seller training programmes are part of this support offering. Other measures include dedicated onboarding teams for new sellers, which provide ongoing support as part of Temu’s Local Seller Program. Sellers can also connect their existing business software to Temu through more than 200 ERP integrations and access a network of more than 150 logistics service providers in Europe, including DHL Group and La Poste. Temu is deepening its dialogue with European business associations and has signed memoranda of understanding with the Swiss SME Association (SKV), Start Slovenia, Portugal’s APDC, and Cyprus’s CITEA to promote the exchange of experience and knowledge. Temu has also joined Cross-Border Commerce Europe to participate in the EU dialogue on cross-border e-commerce. Source: https://www.presseportal.de/pm/178071/6357567 Back to overview page
