TikTok Shop reaffirmed discovery e-commerce and LIVE selling as growth drivers for Malaysian businesses at TikTok Shop Summit Malaysia 2026, the platform’s largest industry event of the year, which was officially launched by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at TikTok Shop Malaysia, said LIVE commerce has become a major driver of consumer purchasing on the platform, with almost 6 in 10 users naming LIVE as their preferred shopping format. LIVE sales grew 48% year-on-year and now contribute close to a third of platform sales. In partnership with government agencies including KPDN and KUSKOP, the program has supported 400,000 local sellers and creators, covering 800,000 local products, and delivered 140% year-on-year sales growth for #JomLokal sellers as of June 2026. Building on an earlier RM180 million cost-of-living relief initiative launched with KPDN in June, TikTok Shop is committing an additional RM70 million through the newly launched JomLokal Booster 2.0, bringing its total 2026 commitment to up to RM250 million. The program includes 0% platform commission across 44 additional sub-categories, along with financial support for logistics and promotional activities. A JomLokal Club will also offer sellers and creators matchmaking, training sessions, and state-vs-state competitions. TikTok Shop Invests RM250 Million to Support Local Sellers Through JomLokal Booster 2.0 Azre said JomLokal Booster 2.0 combines financial support, training, and community initiatives aimed at lowering barriers to commerce for Malaysian entrepreneurs, from first-time sellers to established brands. For shoppers, the programme includes an RM2 rebate on standard shipping, along with expanded logistics options including sea shipping for East Malaysia and nationwide self-collection points. TikTok Shop highlighted its fastest-growing product categories between July 2026 and July 2025, including automotive (+70%), household appliances (+58%), pet supplies (+57%), home improvement (+47%), and baby and maternity (+45%). The platform also reported a 51% sales increase for Malaysian sellers during the recent Ramadan and Raya festive season compared to regular days. According to the TikTok Malaysia Socioeconomic Impact Report 2025, 97% of surveyed businesses view TikTok as an important revenue source, with 72% citing its ability to reach new audiences, 59% highlighting direct customer interaction, and approximately 50% reporting that TikTok contributes more than 40% of their overall revenue.
