TikTok Shop is about to add a 'logistics operating fee', up to 65,000 VND per package. Heavy goods incur additional fees. Specifically, this logistics operating fee only applies to orders with a package weight exceeding 10kg. The fee starts at a minimum of 3,000 VND per package and increases progressively with weight increments, reaching a maximum of 65,000 VND per package. You may also like Notably, this fee is paid directly by the seller, deducted directly from the final order amount, and is not displayed on the buyer's invoice. TikTok Shop stated that buyers will not be directly affected by this charge. However, in cases where an order has been successfully delivered but the buyer subsequently requests a return or refund, the platform also clarifies that this logistics fee will not be refunded to the shop owner. Sellers worry about rising costs and struggle to keep prices stable. The introduction of a fixed fee for bulky and heavy goods has caused considerable concern among small traders selling items such as household goods, assembled furniture, and packaged food. Previously, TikTok Shop owners had to bear multiple mandatory operating costs simultaneously, such as transaction fees, platform commission fees based on product categories, and fixed order processing fees. For large orders, adding several thousand to tens of thousands of VND in logistics fees for each successful order significantly eroded their already thin profit margins. Speaking to Tuổi Trẻ newspaper on the afternoon of September 23rd, a household goods shop owner in Ho Chi Minh City shared: "Selling heavy items already incurs high costs for packaging, tape, and shipping. Now, with the platform adding an operating fee of up to 65,000 VND per package, sellers are forced to reconsider their pricing. If they grit their teeth and bear it, they'll lose money, but if they increase the selling price, they fear losing customers to competitors on other platforms."
