The initiative, launched in conjunction with Pesta #JomLokal , was officiated by Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali. TikTok Shop Malaysia Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, said the company believes its e-commerce ecosystem can be leveraged to create meaningful socioeconomic impact with positive ripple effects across the value chain. --> “Through this cost-of-living relief initiative, TikTok Shop has invested more than RM180 million directly into the local communities we serve. “It will help absorb some of the operational costs of local businesses and alleviate the cost of living for Malaysian households, while also stimulating income opportunities for employees of local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), logistics frontliners, agency partners and affiliate creators,” she said in a statement today. Under the initiative, TikTok Shop has expanded its commission fee waivers to five new essential goods sub-categories, bringing the total number of eligible sub-categories enjoying zero per cent commission to 56 . The new eligible sub-categories include milk, powdered milk, yoghurt, and fermented dairy products, while seller commission fees across 39 other essential goods sub-categories have been reduced by between 0.5 and 9.1 percentage points. In addition, sellers will receive a RM2 rebate for every order to help lower nationwide shipping costs, enabling consumers to enjoy more affordable delivery charges. Meanwhile, Armizan said the government remains committed to ensuring economic growth translates into tangible benefits for the rakyat, particularly through efforts to strengthen affordability, support entrepreneurship and create inclusive opportunities. He welcomed TikTok Shop's proactive collaboration in helping ease Malaysians' cost of living and stimulate domestic trade. “It demonstrates how digital platforms can complement national efforts to empower local MSMEs to participate sustainably in the digital economy and elevate the purchasing power of everyday Malaysians,” he said. As part of its collaboration with KPDN to further ease household expenses throughout 2026, TikTok Shop has become the first e-commerce platform to host an online Jualan Ihsan Rahmah with #JomLokal grocers such as Hero Market and Kedai FGV, alongside exclusive LIVE promotions featuring renowned creators. Malaysian shoppers can enjoy discount vouchers of up to 30 per cent as well as additional savings when checking out using TikTok Pay to purchase groceries and daily necessities, including rice, sugar, flour, and more. TikTok Shop's Pesta #JomLokal also complements KPDN's on-ground Jualan Rahmah through special promotions by Homes Fresh Grocer. The event brings together local entrepreneurs, affiliate creators, shoppers and government partners to strengthen Malaysian brands and domestic trade through digital upskilling, business matching, knowledge sharing and marketing support. The initiative is aligned with KPDN's Jom Beli Produk Malaysia (Jom Malaysia) campaign. Meanwhile, Zalina Zulkapli, founder of Umooda, a Malaysian #JomLokal brand on TikTok Shop, said that TikTok Shop's support plays a vital role in helping them manage their operational costs and maintain a healthy cash flow. “As a Malaysian brand, our focus is always on keeping everyday essentials affordable for families while taking care of our team.
