Utah Weighs Legal Action Against Temu Over Data Privacy Concerns

Utah’s attorney general Derek Brown is looking for outside counsel to bring a potential lawsuit against online marketplace Temu over alleged data privacy violations. The state issued a request for proposals for legal services on July 23 to investigate the Chinese online shopping platform over potential privacy and consumer protection violations. Temu has already been sued by Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Kentucky over its data collection and sharing practices.
