Walmart added new in-store perks to its Walmart+ paid membership program.
The mass retailer is letting members get 25 free 4x6 photo prints every month at the photo centers in Walmart stores, according to a company post on Friday. The benefit can be used for up to a maximum of 300 prints per year.
Walmart+ members can also access a fee-free money service transaction at store Money Centers. The quarterly perk includes fee-free check cashing, money orders, money transfer sends, bill payments or eCash loading.
Walmart+ membership fee revenue growth accelerated in the U.S. during the first quarter, CFO John David Rainey told analysts on an earnings call in May.
“This growth is encouraging as Walmart+ members generally spend four times more than nonmembers overall, with seven times more e-commerce visits each year,” Rainey said. “And in this period of elevated gas prices, members are tapping into their fuel savings benefits even more today, reinforcing the value of membership beyond free shipping.”
The company’s newest perks are part of an effort to bring more convenience to customers’ in-store experiences, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Walmart+ Membership Deepak Maini said in a LinkedIn post last week.
The retailer debuted its Walmart+ membership in 2020 with a focus on an unlimited delivery service.
