Will AI take my job? Ask an economist! October 13, 2026 1:30 PM ET Is AI coming for our jobs? Most Americans are pessimistic. Nearly 80% said they believe AI will lead to job losses over the next decade, according to a recent survey by Gallup and Bentley University. Leaders in the AI industry are a bit more divided. Some, like Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, believe AI could wipe out many white-collar jobs in the next few years. While others, like Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, argue AI will reshape existing roles and create even more jobs than we have now. So which future are we really facing: a job-pocalypse or a jobs transformation? For answers, join Adrian Ma , co-host of The Indicator from Planet Money for a live Q&A with two economists at the center of this debate: Daron Acemoglu , a Nobel Prize-winning professor at MIT, and Ronnie Chatterji , Chief Economist at OpenAI.
